2012 & Other Things.

What happened to 2011?

It kinda flew, didn’t it? Well, all I can say is that it was pretty busy and full of non-art painting gigs, random traveling, lots of family time and starting my own web business.
For starters, with all the scenic and restaurant painting I was doing, I could have been updating this blog with the random work. Especially for Sweeney Todd at Drury Lane in Oak Brook, IL. Additionally, with all the traveling I seriously could have been posting pictures of awesomeness, but I felt that was something separate from my artistic work. Shoulda woulda coulda, but whatevs. 2011 is a thing of the past and all I can do now is move forward and keep these things in mind.

Exciting business launches for 2011?

In late fall, my sister and I both decided to be our own bosses. So she launched her PR company Flavor PR, and moved back to the Windy City where I can now naggingly knock on her door for PR advice.
At the same time I finally launched ZeroGravity Web Solutions, my online business for providing affordable Website Design solutions, as well as developing my own library of free DIY resources.

Thinking back on any and all personal art I created this past year, my brain sadly turns up blank. Inspiration will change this, oh yes, it will change this.

So what’s new for 2012?

Project 365Well, lets talk about inspiration for starters. Project 365 was started by Taylor McKnight in 2004. 8 years later the project has become a huge success and somewhere along the line I heard about it, but never really paid attention. Then, in early 2011 I switched mobile carriers and retired my BlackBerry for an Android phone. Hello gazillions of free apps and one in particular called Pulse that is by far the best blog news reader I’ve come across. About a week ago it introduced me to Project 365 and I thought, hey, I could do that with sketches.

So 2012, let’s attempt a Sketch 365. Though, lets be realistic, I get distracted or insanely busy at times. The goal will be 365 -2 days and possibly today, but the reality goal will be 4-5 a week. They don’t have to be finished drawings or beautifully composed sketches. They just need to happen, for me and to keep my drawing skills alive until I have the time and resources to return.

Also, I plan on taking amandakcamino.wordpress.com and use it as my central hub for all things me. It will show the latest on Braintraffic.net, my photo website soon to be up, my travels, and my business at ZeroGWS.
As for other news in the 2012 realm, I’ve got zilch. For now at least. Happy New Year!
